Bus-In many
large cities, buses only serve as minor means of transportation for the
finer distribution besides the dense train and subway systems. Outside
the metropolis buses mainly serve as a connection to the next train station.
Bus services in smaller cities are often not very good.
Taking the bus in Japan may be confusing to many foreigners because
there are various systems of using buse. In Kyoto, the buses are
often full, and taking the bus can be extremely stressful if you are not
sure about the system and your destination stop.
Taxi-Japanese taxis are very expensive. As a tourist you usually
do not need to take a taxi as long as you are in a large city and it is
daytime or evening. The public transportation system there is usually very
efficient. Also, most drivers speak Japanese.
Car-Japanese
drive on the opposite sides of the road. The drivers seat is on the
right side of the car.
Narita International Airport-This airport is located out side
of Tokyo.
It is the largest
airport in Japan. It is also known as New Tokyo Airport.
There is two terminals. The older terminal(1) is used for airlines
like British airway, American Airline, Canadian Airline, and others.
The second terminal is used for Japan Airline(JAL or JL), Swiss Air,
and many others. Domestic air travels are usually by ANA or JAL.

Kansai International
Airport-The second
largest airport in Japan, it is located in Osaka. This airport is the
closest to Nara and Kyoto.
